Malwede Junior School is thrown into panic when Innocent, the Principal’s son and a learner at the school, goes missing one evening. In addition, four learners are caught attempting to sneak out of the school. The learners try to wiggle out of trouble using dubious means, which land them before the Principal. A ransom demand is made, and the other learners become restless, calling for the missing boy’s release. The events that follow reveal a sinister plan orchestrated to hoodwink the school community and prey on their desperation. Will Innocent be found? Who is innocent in the end?
The Roadblock explores contemporary themes such as truancy and drug abuse, and encourages critical thinking and problem-solving among the youth.
